Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 27, 2026

The short version: Your putting data stays on your device and syncs to your private iCloud account. We collect anonymous putting statistics to improve the app. If you use Coach Connect, you create an account and your putting data is shared with your coach. You can disconnect at any time.

What Data We Collect

3 Pillars Putting is designed with your privacy in mind. The app does not require an account, login, or any personal information to use.

Putting data you enter — including round details, putt outcomes, speed, line, and green read assessments — is stored locally on your device. This data is never uploaded to our servers or shared with anyone. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.

iCloud Sync — Your putting round data is automatically synced to your private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. This keeps your data backed up and available if you switch devices. This data is stored in your personal iCloud storage, not on our servers. Only you can access it. iCloud sync requires an iCloud account and uses your iCloud storage quota.

Anonymous usage analytics — we use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate. This includes events like app opens, rounds tracked, and features visited. These analytics do not include your name, email, location, or any information that could identify you personally. No putting data you enter is included in analytics.

Subscription information — if you subscribe to 3 Pillars Putting Premium, your purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details.

Anonymous Putting Data

When enabled, 3 Pillars Putting collects anonymous putting performance data to help improve the app for all users. This data includes:

Putting distances (first and second putt)
Miss direction (left, right, short, long)
Speed and line assessments
Break direction
Round type (practice or tournament)
Number of holes played

This data also includes basic device information:

App version and build number
iOS version
Device model (e.g., iPhone 15)
Locale/region setting

Coach Connect (Optional)

If you choose to use Coach Connect, you create a Firebase account using your email address and a password. You also provide your name and enter a coach code to connect to your coach. When connected, your putting round data is uploaded to Firebase Firestore with your name and coach code attached, making it visible to your coach through the Coach Connect web portal.

Coach Connect data includes: your name, email address, coach code, putting round data (distances, miss directions, speed/line/green read assessments, break direction), and connection date. Your coach can view this data to track your progress and provide feedback.

You can disconnect from your coach at any time in the app's Settings. Disconnecting stops future data from being shared, but does not delete previously shared round data. To request deletion of previously shared data, contact us at support@3pillarsputting.com.

Coach Connect is entirely optional. If you do not use Coach Connect, the app continues to function normally with no account required and no personal information collected.

What We Don't Collect

We want to be clear about what we do not collect:

No names, email addresses, or account information (unless you use Coach Connect)
No location or GPS data
No contacts, photos, or other device data
No advertising identifiers or tracking profiles
No data shared with or sold to third parties
All data is fully anonymous and cannot be traced back to any individual user. A random identifier is used to group rounds from the same device for pattern analysis — this identifier is not linked to your Apple ID or any personal account.
You can turn off anonymous data sharing at any time in the app's Settings under "Privacy." Data collection is enabled by default and can be disabled without affecting any app functionality.

Third-Party Services

Firebase Analytics (Google) — used for anonymous, aggregate usage analytics. Firebase may collect device type, operating system version, and app usage patterns. No personally identifiable information is sent. You can review Google's privacy practices at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Apple App Store — handles all subscription purchases and management. Apple's privacy policy governs how your purchase information is handled.

Firebase Authentication (Google) — Used for Coach Connect account creation and login. Stores your email address and encrypted password. Governed by Google's privacy practices at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Data Storage and Security

Putting round data is stored on your device and synced to your private iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit for backup and multi-device access. Only you can access your iCloud data. Anonymous aggregate data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore with write-only access — we can view aggregate patterns but cannot trace data back to individual users. We do not operate servers that store your personal information.

If you use Coach Connect, your putting data is stored in Firebase Firestore with your name and coach code attached. This data is accessible to your connected coach through the Coach Connect web portal. Your Firebase account credentials (email and encrypted password) are managed by Firebase Authentication.

Your Data, Your Control

Deleting the app removes local data. To also remove iCloud-synced data, go to Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage on your device.

If you use Coach Connect, you can disconnect from your coach at any time in Settings, which stops future data sharing. To request deletion of your Coach Connect account and any previously shared data, contact us at support@3pillarsputting.com.

International Users

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other regions with data protection laws, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Because 3 Pillars Putting stores all data locally on your device and does not collect personally identifiable information, you have full control over your data at all times through the app's Settings. The anonymous analytics collected via Firebase are governed by Google's data processing terms and comply with applicable data protection regulations.

Children's Privacy

3 Pillars Putting does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The core app does not require any personal information to use. Coach Connect requires an email address and name. If a Coach Connect user is under 13, a parent or guardian must provide consent and manage the account. Coaches using Coach Connect with junior golfers are responsible for obtaining appropriate parental consent.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated effective date. Significant changes will be communicated through the app.
